Virginia Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Aldie

Stabbing incident involved Loudoun woman and her estranged husband.

A 66-year-old Unionville, VA, man faces attempted first-degree murder charges after allegedly assaulting his estranged wife with a knife at her home in Aldie.

Deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 38300 block of John Mosby Highway (Route 50) for a report of a stabbing around 8:45 a.m. Dec. 2. Aldie is in Loudoun, south of Leesburg and southwest of Ashburn.

A 61-year-old woman was found with stab wounds and taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The assault, which occurred inside the home, was believed to be the result of a domestic dispute, according to a press release from the LCSO.

Deputies charged Matthew B. Parker with attempted first-degree murder and placed him in custody. The incident remains under investigation. Parker remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
