Agreement Will Add Two Lanes to Route 606 West of Airport

Commuters use the route to move between Route 50 and Route 28, Dulles Greenway.

Under an agreement to be cemented Monday, a project to widen Route 606/Old Ox Road, between Evergreen Mills Road and the Dulles Greenway should begin next year. The project will add two lanes to the road.

Representatives from the Virginia Department of Transportation, Loudoun County and the Metropolitan Airports Authority will gather Sept. 30 to ink the deal to jointly pay for the nearly 5.3-mile, $120 million project – $3 million for engineering, $21 for right of way acquisition and $96 million for construction, according to current estimates.

That southern leg of Route 606 is known as Loudoun County Parkway, but does not yet connect to the northern part of the parkway.
