Ashdowne Doesn't Make the Grade

Supervisors to rename planned new district that includes Ashburn Farm and Lansdowne.

Residents are invited to offer input on the future name of the Loudoun managerial district that will encompass Lansdowne, Belmont Country Club, Belmont Greene and Ashburn Farm.

Earlier this month, The Loudoun Board of Supervisors voted to name the district Ashdowne, but that name will be reconsidered next week. The new district plan the board adopted takes effect next year when newly elected supervisors take office.

Supervisor Lori Waters (R-Broad Run) sent the following message to constituents who have signed up for her e-mail list:

As you know, the Board of Supervisors adopted a redistricting plan earlier this month.  Next week, the BOS will reconsider the name for District #5, which is currently named "Ashdowne." Please reply to this email with your vote for a different name for this new district:

Waters did not include Ashdowne in the list, however, supporters of that name, should feel free to let supervisors know that as well. Comments may be e-mailed to Waters at lori.waters@loudoun.gov.
