Delgaudio Saga Continues: Loudoun GOP Calls for Board Reversal, Investigation

The county board took control of the Sterling supervisor's district budget, committee assignments.

Some members of the Loudoun Board of Supervisors, as they voted last month to discipline Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio, expressed the hope the vote would bring an end to a months-long episode. Others warned it would not end, and they have proven more intuitive.

The board voted in July to censure Delgaudio and take over control of his district budget based primarily on a report by a grand jury. The report was the result of an investigation into whether Delgaudio used his county office of political or personal gain.

Not only did Delgaudio attempt to have the courts step in to reverse the board’s actions, the Loudoun County Republican Committee entered the fray Monday and approved a resolution calling for the board to restore the Sterling budget and appoint a committee to more thoroughly investigation the allegations.
