Loudoun Health for Life Day

The Loudoun County Health Council, the Loudoun County Public Library and the Loudoun Medical Reserve Corps are sponsoring the third “Loudoun Health for Life Day” on Saturday, April 14, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place in Sterling.

The event is part of a wellness initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle for all Loudoun residents through good nutrition, physical fitness, and preventive healthcare. Activities during the event will include:

  • Preventive Health Care Screenings: Blood pressure, body mass index, and spinal alignment screenings will be available free of charge.
  • Physical Fitness for All Ages: Training exercises, Nintendo Wii and other games.
  • Healthy Cooking & Nutrition: Demonstrations and tastings.
  • Fun Activities Just for Children: Wii competitions, face painting, balloons, and special library storytimes. Freckles the Frog and Smartie the Owl will be there too.
  • Local Resources & Information: Learn, ask questions and take home free materials.
