Help Name Loudoun County Parks

Loudoun has sites in Ashburn and Aldie that need monikers.

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors recently directed the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services to initiate a public naming process for two new park sites—one along Braddock Road and the other off Gloucester Parkway.

Ashburn Site
A 9.5-acre active park in the Stonegate community along the west side of Smith Switch Road (Route 607), south of Gloucester and north of the intersection of Farmwell and Waxpool in the Broad Run District. The site includes:

  • two irrigated lacrosse fields
  • a concession stand with bathroom facilities and meeting space
  • an asphalt trail with access to the W&OD Trail
  • 60 parking spaces

Aldie Site
A 4.11-acre active and passive park at Braddock (Route 620) and Goshen (Route 616) roads near the Stratshire Crossing community. The site includes:

  • basketball court
  • game court (for tetherball, four-square, etc.)
  • non-standard playing field for practice or pickup games
  • benches
  • buffered landscaping
  • a wooded area
  • 28 parking spaces
