Heritage Baptist Wins Expansion Approval

One of the two approved special exceptions also reduces the required parking spaces.

won approval Tuesday night for the planned expansion of its facility at Shellhorn and Ashburn roads.

The Loudoun Board of Supervisors approved two special exceptions for the church on a 7-0-2 vote—Supervisors Janet Clarke (R-Blue Ridge) and Ralph Buona (R-Ashburn) were absent for the vote—that allow the accommodation of meeting space/Fellowship Hall activities as well as a kitchen, bathrooms and office space. In a second phase, classrooms are also planned.

The church now sits on about 4.3 acres in the original 2,502-square-foot building constructed in 1953. An 840-square-foot modular classroom also sits on the site now. The first phase of the expansion calls for 14,488 square feet of space for the hall/kitchen/office, while the second phase would add 8,904 square feet of classroom space.
