York, Chapman Win GOP Bids

Focus now turns to November's general election.

The Loudoun County Republican Committee concluded its convention earlier today by selecting Scott K. York and Mike Chapman to represent the party in races for county chairman and sheriff, respectively.

York, who left the party two election cycles ago, narrowly defeated former supervisor Steve Stockman. York, the incumbent in the race, will face Tom Bellanca in the Nov. 8 election.

While York has shifted back into the party, former LCRC member Sheriff Stephen O. Simpson remains an Independent and will face Chapman, who defeated Ron Speakman by a far wider margin than York defeated Stockman.
