Loudoun County Moves to Third in Population in Virginia

New population estimates suggest boom, according to University of Virginia study. Ashburn residents just have to look around — no need to count.

Loudoun County saw the biggest population increase of any county in the state between 2010 and 2013, according to a report from the University of Virginia’s Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service

The Washington Post's Tom Jackman reported on the increase Wednesday, noting Loudoun has passed Chesterfield County to take third in the state in population, behind neighbors in Prince William and Fairfax counties.

Get ready for more neighbors: the study estimates that an additional 50,000 residents will settle in Loudoun County by 2020.
