Briar Woods senior Matt Rolin received his honorary game jersey for the 2013 Under Armour All-America High School Football Game during a ceremony Oct. 5 at the school.
Rolin, who has committed to the University of South Carolina, is one of 90 players selected to compete in the sixth-annual Under Armour All-America Game, a competition spotlighting the country’s top high school seniors and featured on ESPN. The 2013 game is set for 5 p.m. on Jan. 4 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL.
"Thank you to Under Armour and American Family Insurance for selecting me to play in this game,” Rolin said in a press release from game organizers. “Thank you to my coaches, parents and teachers for helping me along the way. And, finally, thank you to my team.”
The presentation came during a Homecoming week pep rally.
"For the second time in two years we're celebrating an all-American football player here at Briar Woods high school," said head football coach Charlie Pierce during the rally.
