Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue has planned its annual open house on Oct. 3 at Station 6 on Ashburn Road. Families are invited to tour vehicles, take rides on a fire truck, shoot the hose and more. Face painting, balloon artists, popcorn, cotton candy and a live burn with sprinkler display are scheduled as well as safety education stops. Every child who completes at least two of the four stops receives an event t-shirt. Parking is available at Cedar Lane Elementary School with free shuttle bus service.
