Ask an Expert Lecture: Thomas Scott Baldwin and his Red Devil

Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center Senior Curator Tom Crouch will discuss Thomas Scott Baldwin's long career, with a focus on his best known aircraft -- The Red Devil, which is on view at the museum. Baldwin, or "Captain Tom" as he was known, was a famous exhibition balloonist, who moved on to powered airships, then  fixed wing aircraft. The museum's Ask An Expert lecture series features staff members talking to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum. It is presented every second and fourth Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
