Shari'ah Law: Legal, Christian, and Muslim Perspectives on Religious Freedom and Respect for the US Constitution

The recent wave of anti-Shari'ah sentiment, marked by moves in several states to outlaw Shari'ah, is based on misinformation about Shari'ah in particular and Islam in general. During this event, Muslim, Christian, and Legal scholars and experts will explain what Shari'ah is, how it is practiced in the U.S. , constitutional issues surrounding a potential ban, and the effects a ban would have on religious freedom in America , including constitutional issues. After a brief introduction from experts, a town hall meeting will be held where attendees can ask question of the experts and each other.

This town hall is part of two separate series being held by the ADAMS Center and KARAMAH. The ADAMS Center previously held an event discussing Islamic law and Jewish law in the U.S. based on religious freedom and respect for the U.S. Constitution. KARAMAH has held five town hall events on Islam, Shari'ah, and Religious Freedom in the U.S.  in different cities around the nation. This town hall meeting will also be streamed on livestream at http://www.livestream.com/adamstownhall
