This weekend Farmwell Station Middle School presents Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr.
Based on the classic Disney animated film and the 2007 Broadway show, the play tells the story of Ariel the mermaid who dreams of living on land in the human world. After saving Prince Eric from drowning, Ariel finds a new reason to join the human world and will do whatever it takes to be with the handsome prince.
She strikes a bargain with the evil sea witch, Ursula, in which she trades her voice for the opportunity to be human. She has three days for Eric to fall in love with her.
The show includes popular songs from the movie, including “Under the Sea,” “Part of Your World” and “Kiss the Girl.” It also includes songs written for the Broadway production.
Performances started Friday night in the Farmwell Station Middle School auditorium, but continue the following performances:
- Saturday, March 2, 7 p.m.
- Sunday, March 3, 2 p.m.
Children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character. Tickets, available at the door, cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.
