Loudoun Charter School Proposal Enters Final Stretch

A decision about whether to permit the school is expected by the end of February.

A final decision by Loudoun County Public Schools on a proposal to permit Loudoun’s first charter school, the Loudoun Math & IT Academy is set for Feb. 26 after the school board denied a request to delay the review.

Listed below are key dates in the review process, including opportunities for public input:

  • Thursday, Jan. 31, 6:30 p.m., LCPS Admin Building – School Board Work Session
  • Tuesday, Feb. 5, 6:30 p.m., LCPS Admin Building – Public Hearing & School Board Work Session
  • Thursday, Feb. 7, 6:30 p.m., LCPS Admin Building – School Board Work Session
  • Tuesday, Feb. 12, 4 p.m., LCPS Admin Building – Regular School Board Meeting with opportunity for public input at start of meeting
  • Tuesday, Feb. 19, 6:30 p.m., LCPS Admin Building – Public Hearing & School Board Work Session
  • Thursday, Feb. 21, 6:30 p.m., LCPS Admin Building – School Board Work Session
  • Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, 6:30 p.m., LCPS Admin Building – Regular School Board Meeting & Action Item on Loudoun Math & IT Academy Charter School Application (FINAL DECISION PLANNED)
