Petition Calls for HS-6 in 2014

Some Ashburn residents are urging the school system to alter its construction schedule.

More than 100 people have sign an online petition asking Loudoun County Public Schools to push construction of HS-6, a high school in Loudoun Valley Estates, up and open the school a year early in 2014.

Broadlands resident and former LCPS School Board candidate Joy Maloney’s name appears on the petition as the initiator. Residents in the southern part of Ashburn are concerned about overcrowding as the county pushes forward with the next two Ashburn high schools.

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors last week moved forward with plans to construct HS-8 in Lansdowne.
