Varsity Sports: Softball loses first game, boys soccer struggles, baseball keeping it close to even.

Stone Bridge High School sports had a mixed week, with even the previously undefeated varsity softball team falling Wednesday night.

The boys varsity soccer team (2-4-3) continued to struggle this week, losing its fourth and fifth games in a row to South Lakes, 0-1, Tuesday and Madison High, 1-2, Thursday.

The varsity softball and baseball teams each scored wins Tuesday against South Lakes (softball 10-0; baseball 7-0), but they both lost Wednesday. The baseball team (4-5) lost 3-6 to Freedom High, while the softball team (8-1) lost its first game of the season to Bishop O'Connell 0-3. Both teams welcome Marshall High to Ashburn Friday at 6:30 p.m.
