Two Loudoun Students Win Scholarships from Bella Ballerina

Dance studio with locations in Brambleton and Leesburg offers scholarships for students in the arts at Broad Run and Dominion.

During dance studio Bella Ballerina’s spring recital at Broad Run High School, owner Natalie Perkins awarded two $1,000 scholarships to Loudoun students for their work in the arts.

The following information was provided by Bella Ballerina about the recipients:

Kiki Cowan

Katherine Cowan is a senior at Broad Run High School, where her main interest is theater. She’s the stage manager and head of tech theater for her school plays, and has been assistant director, set designer and actor. Kiki is an elected member of the Theater Council and is captain of the improvisation troupe Humorous Diversion. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and has been recognized as Student of the Month. For the past seven years, Kiki has been a member of the National League of Junior Cotillions and was recently presented to society at the Debutante Presentation Ball. This fall she will be attending Emerson College in Boston, majoring in stage management.

Andrew Tufano

Andrew Tufano is a senior at Dominion High School, where he is involved in many activities, including Global Ambassadors, National Honor Society, Hockey Club, SCA, Tri-M Music Honors Society, Choir Council, A Capella Group and Blank Slate Improv. Mostly though, he is dedicated to his craft – songwriting. He has been accepted to Belmont University in Nashville, TN, and will attend this fall. He has already become an accomplished musician and songwriter, showcasing many of his performances on YouTube. Check out Andrew’s performances at www.youtube.com/andrewtufano.
