Farmers Market: 400 Worms Will Help Kids Learn About Gardens and Compost

Gross worms will help produce green thumbs with Cooking With Fun on Saturday.

Ashburn Farmers Market is welcoming Cooking With Fun to the community table this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon in the Pipeline Plaza Parking lot (at the corner of Ashburn Village Blvd. and Farmwell Road).

And the there will be hundreds of wiggling worms:

"Today, I purchased 400 red earthworms for this Saturday's event at the Ashburn Farmers Market. I'll be hosting a table where kids can learn about worms, and how hard they work to keep the soil healthy and the plants and vegetables growing. It's a free hands-on interactive activity where the kids will build their own worm compost to bring home - with a live worm. Come out if you can. Stop by to say hello. Buy some strawberries, eggs, bread, and plants. And touch a worm!"
