Ashburn Knights Kick Off Season
The defending District 16 champs look for more success at home Thursday at Stone Bridge.
The Ashburn Knights—a baseball team sponsored by the Leonard W. Kidd Memorial Post 2001 of the American Legion in Ashburn—is off to a winning start at 2-1, with the next home game set for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at . The Knights won the District 16 Championship in 2011.
The American Legion Baseball League provides 17- to 19-year-olds the opportunity to keep up their skills and compete through the summer. Students from Stone Bridge, , Park View and Potomac Falls participate on the team. The Ashburn Legion also sponsors a junior Knights team for 14- to 16-year-olds.
