Ashburn Marathon Runners Are In Boston

No word on whether the nine runners from the community were injured in explosions near the finish line.

Six of nine runners from Ashburn finished the Boston Marathon Monday before explosions stopped the race.

The 117th Boston Marathon began with 26 seconds of silence to honor Sandy Hook victims and about three hours after the first runners finished up, there two explosions near the finish line. Several television reports indicated that two additional devices were located and disarmed.

Sadly, the Patriot-Ledger is reporting two booms were heard from inside the Fairmount Copley Hotel near the finish line on Boylston Street. There are also reports of multiple serious injuries, but no word yet on how many people were injured, or whether those injured were spectators or runners.
