Ashburn’s King Named NSCAA All-American

The former Broad Run soccer star joins one of her Gator teammates in the selection.

University of Florida senior Holly King, who played for Broad Run during her high school years in Ashburn, has been selected to appear on 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-American teams. This is King’s first such honor, and the second for her teammate, Erika Tymrak, of Bradenton, FL.

King earned recognition earlier this year after the Southeastern Conference those her as the SEC Defensive Player of the Year. King earned a spot on the NSCAA All-America third team. She previously joined Tymrak on the All-SEC first team. She started every match and was second among the Gator field players with her average of 85.4 minutes per match. She finished fifth among the 2012 Gators with a career season-high 14 points.

King also had career highs for goals (5) and assists (4). Four of her goals came on consecutive Sundays in September, including the game-winning header versus New Mexico and the tying goal at Auburn.
