Ashburn Soccer Club Becomes FCV Ashburn, Partners With Football Club of Virginia

The new alliance aims to focus the development of top players.

The Football Club of Virginia recently announced an alliance with Ashburn Soccer Club with the intention to create the top club in Northern Virginia. Under the new moniker FCV Ashburn, the club will have access to FC Virginia’s successful girls and boys academy travel program as well as its recreation program.

FC Virginia’s previously partnered Annandale Soccer Club, so the new alliance with Ashburn makes FC Virginia a destination club for top players in Northern Virginia, carving a path to the highest levels of soccer, according to a release from the team.

“This partnership allows for a bigger pool of players to be developed and will allow FC Virginia greater access to talented players,” said Terry Foley, president of FC Virginia. “With the involved Clubs we will finally be able to work together for the good of the players while sharing resources and knowledge to build the best development platform for every athlete.”

FCV Ashburn aims for success early, including a U7-U8 crossover program for the pre-travel player. The players at these ages receive professional training and the ability to compete with other soccer clubs in the area on top quality fields. Do you have younger kids reader to start? FCV Ashburn will offer U3 programs girls and boys.

The primary turf practice field for FCV and FCV Ashburn teams will be the recently finished Evergreen SportsPlex. The FCV Ashburn Bermuda fields at Bles Park are also used.

Recreational soccer registration for FCV Ashburn is underway now through March 15 at www.fcvashburn.com.
