Cricket has grown more popular in the United States, and residents in Loudoun County may have noticed a growing number of teams playing on area ballfields.
The Washington Post featured the sport in a story yesterday. A previous WP story focused on cricket in Loudoun.
In Loudoun, the sport has grown from just a few teams several years ago to multi-division leagues, sucy as the Virginia Loudoun County Cricket League. A Yahoo group has formed called the Loudoun Cricket Club. A PDF about information for Loudoun's 2012 seasons are attached.
During the season, teams can be spotted at various locations in the county, including the ballfields at Belmont Ridge Road and Northstar Boulevard—known as Brambleton Park, despite the lack of official dedication—and the AOL campus in Dulles.
