2011 Cannonball Invitational Pro-Am

The Club at Creighton Farms will once again host a major golf tournament marking another significant Loudoun County sporting event.  The Country’s second highest ranking senior’s tour - the Sunbelt Senior Tour - is making its return to Loudoun County with the 2011 Cannonball Invitational Pro-Am, running from September 11 through the 13th.

The Club at Creighton Farms in Aldie is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course and winner of 4 national awards for best new private club in America.  The Inaugural Cannonball Invitational was held last year at The Club and the winner, Gary Trivisonno returns to defend his title.   There is no charge for this great event and all golf enthusiasts are welcomed to attend.

The Cannonball Invitation is more than just high quality golf.  Last year’s event was a smashing success raising over $35,000 for charity.  This year, all benefits from the event will stay in Loudoun County, with the primary beneficiaries being the Loudoun Community Health Clinic (www.loudounchc.org) and the Windy Hill Foundation (www.windyhillfoundation.org).  The Cannonball is held in conjunction with 100 Women Strong and The Blewitt Foundation for Wounded Warriors organizations.

The Sunbelt Senior’s Tour features players such as Loudoun’s own Keith Reiger, leading money winner Javier Sanchez, Graham Banister of Australia and Steven Shields of England.   Alumni of the tour, which feeds into the PGA’s Champions Tour, include Ken Green, David Rummels and Pete Oakley.
