Ashburn Road to Mastery Summer Chess Camp

The Ashburn Chess Club holds its first summer chess camp for 2012 from June 25-June 29.  The camp, known as the Road to Mastery Summer Chess Camp, will be conducted by renowned chess trainer, IM Nikolay Andrianov.  Andrianov was the Soviet Junior chess champion in 1980 and is known to be second to former world champions Vassily Smyslov and Maya Chiburdanidze.

The camp is opened to all players with ratings from 0-2199.  Players may attend in the morning, afternoon or all-day.  Players with similar ratings are usually paired with one another so they would be trained on their own level accordingly.

A closed tournament will follow on June 30, where up to three finalists (provided there are 15 campers enrolled) will qualify to the Ashburn Scholastic Round-Robin Tournament, where the winner will be sent to the Moscow Open in Russia in February, with flight and boarding provided by the Club.
