Hounds Bring Movie Night to Ashburn

Crittenden Park event will feature Fetch and show ‘Rookie of the Year.”

Looking for a little warm up before Game 3 of the World Series tomorrow night? Check out Hollywood Nights with the Hounds at Greg Crittenden Memorial Park in Ashburn.

Everyone’s invited for fun and games from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with an airing of Rookie of the Year at 6 p.m.

The Loudoun Hounds are sponsoring the event, which will offer face painting, inflatable games, contests and more. Fetch also plans to be on hand to meet Loudoun’s young baseball fans.

Earlier this year, the Hounds announced plans to move their planned stadium from the Kincora development to One Loudoun in Ashburn. There are some land use applications that must be approved first, which the Loudoun Board of Supervisors have placed on an expedited track.

Who exactly are "the Loudoun Hounds"? The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs is an American professional baseball team based in Waldorf, Maryland. They are a member of the Liberty Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. I'd like to know where do the Hounds play, how many games, who's on the team, and are they a member of any League? Are a "PR" toy of Miller & Smith development to get buy-in on projects we might not otherwise want? And why is there so much 'hype' about them in the Ashburn Patch and other Loudoun 'news' sources? Is this news or just a vehicle for Miller and Smith to advertise for free? Seriously, I am looking for some real answers here. Educate me!
