Loudoun’s Skate Troopers Bring Roller Derby to the SportsPlex

The Battle of the Beltway pits teams from Maryland and Virginia against each other.

Road rage on skates! Blockers, jammers and pivots from both sides of the Potomac will bring a new roller derby rivalry to the Dulles SportsPlex at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1.

The Skate Troopers of NOVA Roller Derby will compete against the Black-Eyed Suzies of Rockville’s Free State Roller Derby. The event marks the inaugural bout for both leagues.

The bout will follow the official rules of Modern Athletic Derby Endeavor (MADE) – a national affiliation of leagues promoting fair, skilled competition.
