Photo Focus: Briar Woods Hosts LoCo in Softball and Soccer

The rain finally let up enough Friday for the local high schools to do something it seemed they hadn't done much the last couple of weeks – play some games. With the Ashburn schools taking part in at least eight different contests, Patch sports shot pictures of two great Briar Woods games against the Loudoun County Raiders.

The Falcon softball team lost a tough pitcher's duel to LoCo. Macy Jones' struck out 13 batters and held the Raiders to just one run. But the Falcons could never get their offense on track and lost by the final score of 1-0.

The Falcon boys soccer team notched its first victory of the season with a 2-0 win over LoCo. Mike Venkat got the Falcons on the board with a first half strike, and Dave Behrendt put the game out of reach with a goal of his own.
