RGIII Will Sit Out Most of Preseason

Washington Redskins Quarterback Robert Griffin III is still recovering from a knee injury.

Despite approval from his doctor and the go-ahead from his coach,Washington Redskins Quarterback Robert Griffin III may not be on the field anytime soon.

Although his recovery was dubbed “unbelievable” by his surgeon, according to Sports IllustratedGriffin confirmed to NFL.com that he’ll sit out the entirety of the preseason. 

Griffin is recovering from an aggravated knee injury during last season’s playoff season, according to the Washington Post

“Unless it’s a necessity,” Griffin said at a press conference, “then I don’t think I’ll play in the preseason unless coach says so.”

Earlier this week, Griffin tweeted the news to his followers that his doctor had cleared him for practice and that he’d be eased back into training.

At Thursday’s press conference he said he had passed his conditioning test Wednesday and that he will participate in some activities with the team, but he won’t be joining full team drills for now, NFL.com reported.

He said that he thought everyone was on the same page when it came to his recovery plan and that and he was ready to move on and up – hopefully to the Super Bowl
