Ashburn WWII Vet Tosses Opening Pitch for American Legion Baseball

The league provides a way for young baseball players to keep up their skills during the summer.

Young baseball players from around the area are participating on the American Legion's Ashburn Post 2001 team this summer to keep up their skills, or to just keep playing.

Local vets from the area turned out for the opening day game Wednesday night, and World War II veteran Chuck Thomas threw the opening pitch (See video about Taylor).

Check out the other videos about the league and about a special baseball Thomas agreed to sign for Ashburn resident Jim Wheaton.
