14 Days of Summer: Time for a Free Date Night With Harry and Sally

When is the end of summer? Not until you catch one of the last outdoor screenings of the season.

By Greg Hambrick

Most of the summer outdoor movies taper off before school starts, but there’s one more for romantics. Today, Sunday, Sept. 8, offers a screening of “When Harry Met Sally” to close out Lake Anne’s Summer Film Festival.

The last day of summer is Sept. 21. Or, you can look at it this way: The first day of fall is Sept. 22. Patch has found something for you to do each day as we count down until summer passes us by.

The free screening of “When Harry Met Sally” offers a chance to see the ‘80s romantic comedy about two friends (Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal) who cross paths several times. Local restaurants offer to-go menus for moviegoers. The film is expected to begin at sundown, around 7:30 p.m.
