School has started, but there’s still fun to be had. Today, Thursday, Sept. 5, you can hop on a wagon and enjoy a ride in the late-summer weather. (go hyperlocal and list your weather)

The last day of summer is Sept. 21. Or, you can look at it this way: The first day of fall is Sept. 22. Patch has found something for you to do each day as we count down until summer passes us by.

Check our events calendar to see what’s happening in our community, and add your own events!

Fairfax County Park Authority offers a wagon ride today in a search for birds, butterflies and blossoms. The moving scavenger hunt runs through the meadow at Riverbend Park from 10-11 a.m. The cost is $5 per person. Register online. For information, call 703-759-9018.

There’s more opportunities for a summer ride, too. For instance, trolley tours are available through historic Fredericksburg.
