Bettas Challenge Teams to Give

Help a local swim team help a good cause by contributing during an upcoming challenge.

Last week, the Brambleton Bettas Swim Team kicked off their first “Bettas Give Back” campaign by collecting items for the Loudoun Animal Shelter and challenging their opponent, the Lansdowne Lightning, to match the contributions. Brambleton residents were also encouraged to drop off needed items, including treats for dogs, cats and other small animals, toys, blankets and more.

The next “Bettas Give Back” campaigns are set for June 26 when the Bettas take on Belmont and challenge the team to collect school supplies for Briar Woods Cluster—and July 11 against Lovettsville, with a challenge to collect food for Loudoun Interfaith. Donations may be left at the Brambleton Community Center, 42645 Regal Wood Drive, in Ashburn from 7 p.m. to 12 p.m. on either date.

By supporting local charities through their “Bettas Give Back” campaign, the Bettas hope to get swimmers more involved with community service this summer; and by challenging opponents, the swim team hopes to inspire others.
