Ashburn Rotary to Offer Interact Club Scholarships

The club will award one student from each Ashburn high school a $500 scholarship prize.

Beginning with the upcoming 2013-14 school year, the Ashburn Rotary Club plans to present three area high school seniors with scholarships. One Interact Club member from Broad Run, Stone Bridge and Briar Woods high schools each will receive a $500 scholarship to be used for college, university or vocational/trade school.

Interact is Rotary International’s service club for high school students, sponsored by local clubs. Interact members develop leadership skills and gain an understanding of the value of individual responsibility and hard work while serving their school and community through a range of projects and activities.

“Ashburn Rotary is excited about the opportunity to offer scholarships within our community, and is very appreciative of the hard work and dedication our Interact students put into their service projects each year,” said Chris Little, Ashburn Rotary’s scholarship chairman.
