Bobby Mitchell Golf Classic Tees Off at Lansdowne
This weekend's 22nd snnual event marks Mitchell's last serving as the honorary chair.
The Bobby Mitchell Autotrader.com Hall of Fame Golf Classic will celebrate its 22nd year this weekend when 50 Hall of Famers head to Lansdowne Resort for the tournament. Hall of Fame inductees this year include Jack Butler, Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy and Willie Roaf, along with mainstays Darrell Green, Larry Little, Oscar Robertson and Sonny Jurgensen.
“Bobby Mitchell and his wife Gwen have dedicated themselves to planning and executing this amazing tournament weekend each year since 1990,” said Gabrielle Urquhart, LLS Executive Director. “Their unsurpassed dedication to our mission, along with the commitment of co-chairs Tamara Darvish of DARCARS, and Todd Heavner of Enterprise rent-a-car, has helped to change the lives of thousands of Americans living with blood cancer.”
Tournament guests can meet Julianna Nicholson, a 6-year-old leukemia survivor. Julianna and her family will attend all weekend events. The public may participate in the gallery at Sunday’s Golf Classic for a $5 donation to LLS.

In addition, raffle tickets for a 2012 Scion tC donated by DARCARS will be available. The raffle winner, who does not need to be present, will be drawn at Saturday’s banquet. Tickets, limited to 2,500, cost $50.
The Bobby Mitchell Hall of Fame Golf Classic has raised more than $7 million for the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society—to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
