Ringing in Hope Race Set for New Year's Eve at Brambleton Town Center

More than 1,200 participants signed up so far for 10K, 5K Races, 1K Walk.

 

More than 1,200 racers have signed up for New Year’s Eve’s Ringing in Hope Walk, Run & Fun winter race at Brambleton Town Center, but it's not too late for more to join in.

Participants competing in the 10K or 5K races will run on a scenic USATF-certified course with transponder timing by Capital Running Company. The popular Washington Redskins fans the Hogettes will signal the start of the race.

Sponsors will have hors d’oeuvres waiting at the finish line. Prizes will be awarded for the top three male and female overall winners as well as the top three male and female in each age bracket. Sponsors have donated raffle prizes for the event as well. The at Brambleton has offered racers access to its changing rooms and showers.

Family activities are planned, including pony rides, a barrel train ride, face painting, tattoos, music, moonbounces and family portraits. The activities are open to all for a suggested donation of $5.

Race registration and the family activities begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Brambleton Town Center Builder and Showcase Welcome Center. The races and walk kick off at 10 a.m. Activities end at 1 p.m.

  • Joshua’s Hands
  • Jill’s House

Participants may designate race registration fees to the participating charity of their choice. Representatives of each charity will be on hand at the event to showcase their efforts and services to the community.

Online Registration remains open at www.ringinginhope.com until 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29. Race day registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at Brambleton Town Center.
