For Your Weekend: 9th Annual Twilight Festival 4-Mile Race

Enjoy an unusual twilight race Saturday, June 21 complete with beer gardens, live music and even moon bounces for the kids.

Sponsored by Mountcastle Plastic Surgery and Vein Institute and Fidelity Investments, the 9th annual Mountcastle Plastic Surgery Twilight Festival 4-Miler and Fun Run takes place June 21 in Ashburn Village at 20098 Ashbrook Place.

The event's host, Potomac River Running, aims to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and has already contributed more than $20,000 to the fund.

The race offers runners and walkers a unique opportunity to compete at twilight with a 7:30 pm start time for the 4-mile road race. A 1-mile Fun Run option kicks off at 7:35 pm.

The festival features live music by Johnny Rico’s Powerhouse Band, recovery food and drink courtesy of Harris Teeter, a beer garden, face painting, moon bounces and other children’s activities.

Registered participants will receive an exclusive Twilight technical race shirt and the first 1,000 runners to arrive at packet pickup will receive a Twilight 4-Miler pin. Team awards will be given to the top teams in the 4-Miler. Teams may be as large as you like - in fact, an award will be given to the team with the most members.

Cash prizes of up to $150 will also be awarded to the top three men and women overall.
