Leesburg Fine Arts Festival, Haunted Manor, Corn Maze Opening and More

The Leesburg Fine Arts Festival returns this weekend. Historic Downtown Leesburg and Friends of Leesburg Public Arts will transform a busy intersection into an “outdoor gallery” of paintings, sculptures, photography, mixed-media and more. Artists will be on hand. Free. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. At King and Market streets, Leesburg.

Fall is almost here, and Great Country Farms is kicking it off with the Cider Festival. Apples will be available for U-Pick, and tastings and bottles of cider will be available. The tractor themed corn maze will open this weekend for the whole family, along with live music and arts and crafts from noon to 3 p.m. each day. $12 for adults, $10 for children, free admission for ages 2 and under. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 18780 Foggy Bottom Rd, Bluemont

Paxton Manor is busy this weekend, with Friday the 13th arriving as they prepare for haunting season. The manor is offering a limited number of reservations to spend the night in the haunted house on Friday the 13th. $100. More information check out www.shocktober.org/friday-the-13th. Organizers are also auditioning crew members for the haunted house season on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. 601 Catoctin Circle, Leesburg.

It's roller derby action Saturday as the Vineyard Vixens take on the Beltway Betties. "Fans can look forward to plenty of hard-hitting action against these two teams in a bout where (almost) anything goes." Doors open at 4:30 p.m. $10 online, $12 at the door. Michael and Son Sportsplex, 21610 Atlantic
