Temple Hall Corn Maize, Barktoberfest, Pumpkinville, 10-Minute One-Act Festival and More

What we're looking forward to this weekend.

The events below come from the Patch events calendar, but there's more! Also, tell us about your events this weekend in the comment section below.

You can feel it in the air, but you have to get to a festival to see fall in action. The Temple Hall Farm Corn Maize and Fall Festival kicks off this weekend. Family activities include a pumpkin patch, farm animals, jumping pillow, pedal cars, hay tunnel, giant spider web and more. $12, $10 for ages 3 to 11. 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, until 5 p.m. Sundays. 15855 Limestone School Road, Leesburg.

Oktoberfest isn’t just for lederhosen and steins — it’s also perfect weather to strut with your mutt. Barktoberfest: A “Purr”-fect Pet Celebration is a daylong festival that kicks off with the Mutt Strut fundraiser. The event supports Friends of Homeless Animals. There will be live music, games for kids and dogs, vendors, canine demonstrations and more. Mutt Strut, 9 a.m., price and registration details. Festival, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., $5, free admission for children and dogs. Saturday. Loudoun County Fairgrounds. 17558 Dry Mill Road, Leesburg.

It won't be the animals you expect at this year's Pumpkinville Fall Festival. The Leesburg Animal Park has more than a dozen large, sculpted dinosaurs for the popular fall event. Other new attractions include a Spider Web Crawl, a 20-foot inflatable tree house slide, a huge pumpkin bounce and a kid’s cornstalk maze. From $8.95, more ticket info. 19270 James Manroe Highway, Leesburg.

There aren't many theatrical productions that can promise something new every 10 minutes. The Sterling Playmakers present the 2013 Ten-Minute One-Act Festival, featuring their newest collection of original ten-minute plays. $7. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. Sterling Middle School, Holly Avenue, Sterling.

Get Ready for 'Flirtin’ With Disaster' at Tally Ho. Molly Hatchet will bring its brand of southern rock to town. $25 in advance. 8 p.m. Saturday. Tally Ho Theatre, 19 W Market Street, Leesburg.

A good cause knows no season, but this weather is a great time to get outside. The Cherry Blossom Breast Cancer Walk and Fun Run helps fight breast cancer in our local communities. The event includes a two mile walk and a three mile run. 1 p.m. Sunday. Sanders Corner Elementary School, 43100 Ashburn Farms Parkway, Ashburn.
