Weekend Traffic Alerts As Several 5K Races, Events Close Roads

Motorists advised to be patient and drive safely.

It's going to be a busy weekend in Loudoun County and the Sheriff's Office is alerting motorists of potential delays on Saturday and Sunday. 

"Motorists are asked to please be patient, drive safely and follow all law-enforcement direction," according to a release.

Here's the list of events and the routes that may be impacted: 

On Saturday and Sunday, motorists may see increased traffic on Route 15, Lucketts Road and St. Clair Lane for an event in Lucketts. The event will take place from 9AM to 5PM on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, a 5k race will be held in the area of Broad Run High School between 7:30AM and 10:30AM. Motorists should expect some delays in the area of Ashburn Road, Farmwell Road and Hemingway Drive.

Also on Saturday, a 5k race will be held in the Ashburn Village area between 8AM and 11AM. Motorists should expect some delays in the area of Ashburn Village Boulevard, Tavern Drive, Glennhazel Drive, Grottoes Drive, Ringold Drive and Fincastle Drive.

On Sunday, a 5k race will be held in the area of Portsmouth Road, Claiborne Parkway, Charter Oak Drive and Winkle Drive in the Ashburn area. The race will be held from 6:30AM and 9:30AM.

Also on Sunday, a 5k race will be held in the area of Northstar Boulevard, Creighton Road, Olympia Drive, Ringneck Place, Legacy Park Drive and Regal Wood Drive in the Ashburn area from 7:30AM to 10:30AM.

Motorists may see additional traffic in the area of the Landsdowne Volunteer Fire-Rescue Station No. 22 on Riverside Parkway for an event being held on Sunday from 11AM to 2PM.
