After a mediocre first visit, my wife, daughter and I decided to give Parallel Wine Bistro another try on 10/1/10. That was a bad decision. It took 50 minutes for them to bring out 3 appetizer-sized plates (they have small portions). Then as I got half-way through the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, I noticed tiny aphid-sized bugs crawling in my lettuce and across the plate. I wanted to go into an Incredible Hulk-type frenzy, but calmly pointed it out to the (manager or owner, not sure who). He shook his head in disgust and took the plate, thinking he was embarrased at the restaurant's performance... but still didn't comp my check or say he was sorry. The swarmy manager or owner guy, who struts around there pretty full of himself, wanted to chat it up with 2 clearly married ladies at the table next to us instead. Needless to say, I will never go there again and hope anybody who reads this will avoid as well.

Food is good, but small portions....hence tapas. The wine list is good but I was hoping for a bigger selection and some local Loudoun County wines.
The beer list rocks.
Just add a few more Chards, Meritage, and Zins...and throw in some local flavor and I'll become a regular.

Tried this for date night - this is the third restaurant in the same space over last four years. Service not that great, but food was good. Oddly enough the background music was Led Zep - I'm a big fan but it's not really appropriate for a tapas place. Don't bring the kids, not that sort of place. And be prepared for very dark atmosphere - not Goth dark, literally not very well lit dark. Maybe I've been to too many kid friendly places and this is how a restaurant should be lit.
Nice to have a new type of place - not too many small plates places around (it's not actually a tapas place if that means Spanish food to you.)
