Greenway Tolls, Rt. 7 Interchange on Board Agenda

Supervisors will also consider organizational matters, including the election of the board’s vice chairman

The Loudoun Board of Supervisors has a heavy agenda planned for its Jan. 2 business meeting from organizational matters and electing a chairman to opposing Greenway toll hikes and resolving a dispute about the Route 7/Ashburn Village Boulevard Interchange. Election of Vice Chairman – Since Supervisor Janet Clarke (R-Blue Ridge) announced in December that she would not seek a second term as vice chairman this year, the board must elect someone else who will perform the chairman’s duties in his absence. Ashburn Center North – Latisys-Ashburn North LLC, of Englewood, CO, has submitted special exception requests to permit data center uses on 11 acres east of Ashburn Village Boulevard and north of Redrum Drive. So, Buona and Williams are outraged by TRIP II's 3.54% toll increase, but look the other way as MWAA voted to raise tolls 55% over the next 12 months for the rail project they both supported? It's time to say NO to MWAA. If they are going to raise tolls, have them do it on the Dulles Access Rd, not the Dulles Toll Rd. Rep. Wolf supports the idea, lets see some action on it. Ashburn's Senator Outlines Plans for Session

Belmont Ridge/Rt. 7 Interchange funding is among Herring's top legislative goals.

RICHMOND – Offer tax credits for research and development. Build roads to reduce traffic congestion, especially in Loudoun County. Give tax breaks to employers who promote telecommuting. Those are three goals that Sen. Mark Herring (D-33) has for the General Assembly’s 2011 session. Herring — whose district includes Ashburn — released his legislative agenda last week as the session got under way. So far, Herring has introduced 20 bills — on topics ranging from medical malpractice to speed limits to crimes against elderly Virginians. The deadline to file proposals is Friday, Jan. 21.
