Meetings on Park Light Proposals Sets

Illuminating Brambleton Fields and Byrne’s Ridge Park in Aldie are focus.

Two upcoming meetings have been set to keep residents in the loop about special exception applications for lights at parks in Aldie and Brambleton. The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services and the Department of Construction and Waste Management scheduled the sessions to the public information about special exception applications that must first win approval before lights can be installed at Byrne’s Ridge Park (24915 Mineral Springs Circle in Aldie) and the Brambleton Fields park site (22389 Belmont Ridge Road).

VIDEO: Harris Teeter Offers Reward After Robbery

After incident at the Stone Ridge location, the chain offers up to $50,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment.

Harris Teeter has pledged up to $50,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest and indictment of two masked men who robbed grocery chain’s Stone Ridge location near Aldie early Tuesday morning. The two men walked into the store around 2:20 a.m. July 17 brandishing firearms, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. One employee was pushed to the ground, but was not injured during the robbery. The suspects then forced their way into two registers and took an undisclosed amount of money. Help Name Loudoun County Parks

Loudoun has sites in Ashburn and Aldie that need monikers.

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors recently directed the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services to initiate a public naming process for two new park sites—one along Braddock Road and the other off Gloucester Parkway. Ashburn Site A 9.5-acre active park in the Stonegate community along the west side of Smith Switch Road (Route 607), south of Gloucester and north of the intersection of Farmwell and Waxpool in the Broad Run District. The site includes: Aldie Site A 4.11-acre active and passive park at Braddock (Route 620) and Goshen (Route 616) roads near the Stratshire Crossing community. Virginia Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Aldie

Stabbing incident involved Loudoun woman and her estranged husband.

A 66-year-old Unionville, VA, man faces attempted first-degree murder charges after allegedly assaulting his estranged wife with a knife at her home in Aldie. Deputies from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 38300 block of John Mosby Highway (Route 50) for a report of a stabbing around 8:45 a.m. Dec. 2. Aldie is in Loudoun, south of Leesburg and southwest of Ashburn. A 61-year-old woman was found with stab wounds and taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The assault, which occurred inside the home, was believed to be the result of a domestic dispute, according to a press release from the LCSO. Deputies charged Matthew B.
