Have You Created Your Relay for Life Team?

AOL once again hosts the Relay for Life of Eastern Loudoun event.

Nine teams have signed up so far for the Relay for Life of Eastern Loudoun, which takes place at 2 p.m. May 19 at AOL’s Dulles campus at 22000 AOL Way. Have you put your team together yet? Relay for Life events raise money to fight cancer and benefit the American Cancer Society. During Relay events, teams of people camp out at a local venue — often a high school, park, or fairground, but in this case AOL — and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays continue overnight and last up to 24 hours. Relayers do not have to walk all night, but each team is asked to have at least one representative on the track at all times during the event. Relay For Life Raises Money at Aol to Fight Cancer

American Cancer Society benefits from business fundraiser.

June 11, 2011, marked a historic “first” for the American Cancer Society in the National Capital Area: It was the date of the first corporate/community Relay For Life event held at a corporate location – the Aol campus in Ashburn. More than 300 people participated in the Society’s Eastern Loudoun Relay For Life, including many students and teachers from Loudoun County public schools. Numerous families and small businesses and their employees also took part in the relay. Stone Bridge Boys Soccer "Kicks for Cancer" Tuesday

The charity event, which supports the American Cancer Society, highlights Senior Night.

The Stone Bridge High School boys soccer team will hold a fundraising event dubbed "Kicks for Cancer" tonight, May 10, when they host Liberty District rival McLean in the last regular season game of 2011. Members of the Stone Bridge DECA club will be selling T-shirts at the game to support cancer research by the the American Cancer Society. Stone Bridge will also celebrate Senior Night as they recognize the nine senior players and two managers on the team. The Bulldogs will be looking to improve their district standings as they head into the playoffs. The team ranks third in the district with a 6-1-4 overall record, but can move into second with a win.  The JV team starts things off at 5:30 p.m. and then the varsity squad kicks off at 7 p.…
