Ashburn Crime Report: July 12-19

Attempted abduction, exposure and larceny are among the incidents reported to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Attempted Abduction Reported in Belmont Greene An 11-year-old boy reported to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office that a white car pulled up to him along the 42800 block of Kirkland Street just before 9 p.m. July 16 and the driver told him to get in. The child refused to get in the car, according to an LCSO report, and the car left the area. The boy reported that several people were in the vehicle, including black female passenger. Exposure A 69-year-old male was charged with exposing himself along the 20000 block of Medalist Drive around 9 a.m. July 13. Charges Made After Paintballs Strike Cruiser

Ashburn residents were charged in early morning incident July 19.

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies located three suspects in the area of Ashburn and Hay roads around 2:20 a.m. July 19 after paintballs struck a marked patrol vehicle. Deputies charged Shaun A. Randall, 19, with conspiracy to maliciously shoot at an occupied marked law enforcement vehicle as well as underage possession of alcohol, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies also charged Nicole M. Quigg, 18, and Christopher R. Pullen, 19, with drunk in public. All three suspects are Ashburn residents and remained in custody Thursday afternoon, according to the report. Ashburn Crime Report: July 5-15

Assault, a pedestrian death, larceny and destruction of property among Ashburn incidents reported to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Teen Assaulted by Man in Pickup A 19-year-old teenager reported that the driver of a gray pickup truck, described as either Asian or Hispanic, approached the teen, jumped out of the vehicle and then began to chase the teen around 3:38 a.m. July 13. According to a report given the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the teen said the driver made reference to a water balloon that hit his truck and then assaulted him. The driver was further described as a male with very short, dark hair. McLean Pedestrian Dies in Ashburn Village A 21-year-old McLean man was struck by a commercial vehicle near Route 7 and Ashburn Village Boulevard around 12:43 a.m. July 12. Grand Jury Indicts Ashburn Man on Child Porn

The Broadlands resident was arrested last year as part of collaborative investigation.

A Loudoun County Grand Jury on Monday indicted Jeffrey Brian Lee, of Ashburn, on 23 felony counts of possession of child pornography. Lee, 49, was arrested and charged in October 2011 after an investigation conducted by the Loudoun County Sex Crimes Unit, the FBI and the CIA. Investigators searched Lee’s home on Stillbrook Farm Drive in Broadlands on Sept. 27 and seized numerous computers, phones, electronic storage devices, film, video tapes, yearbooks and receipts. Ashburn Fire Station Expansion Gets Hearing

The fire company’s proposal calls for doubling the size of the existing facility along Ashburn Road.

A special exception request by the Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department to tear down a portion of its existing station and construct a larger facility on the 3.17-acre site along Ashburn Road is set for a public hearing Tuesday night. The fire company now has 17,535 square feet of space, but would spread out into a 36,083-square-foot building. The proposal calls for a slightly expanded footprint for the new building. Founder’s Hall to the rear of the existing station would remain, but the front portion of the station would be torn down. “Tonight's vote will hopefully be the culmination of a two and a half year effort to modernize Ashburn Fire Station 6,” said Carl Cowan, president of the department, adding that the boundary line …

Minor incidents reported in the community June 28 - July 7.

Suspicious Event An Ashburn resident reported seeing three men remove what appeared to be a firearm from a vehicle in a parking lot on the 21800 block of Brickshire Circle around 5 p.m. June 29. Two men then left on foot, while the third drove away in the vehicle, described as a gray Honda Civic. Deputies searched the area and found nothing suspicious. Ashburn Woman Dies in Fairfax Accident

Loudoun Valley Estates resident’s vehicle was struck by a Murano that crossed the median.

An Ashburn woman has died Saturday as a result of injuries sustained during a Thursday accident on Braddock Road near Shirley Gate Road in Fairfax County. Lora Melissa Myers, 38, was driving her 2011 Toyota Highlander westbound on Braddock Road around 6 p.m. Thursday when a 2007 Nissan Murano crossed the median into oncoming traffic and struck her car, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department. The impact propelled Myers’ Highlander into the path of a 2007 Pontiac Vibe, which also struck the Highlander. The Murano’s driver, Christopher Cobb, 54, of Fairfax City, died at the scene, Myers was airlifted to a local hospital where she died Saturday. Ashburn Crime Update

A teen was injured after falling from a car; larcenies, destruction of property primary reported crimes.

Improper Vehicle Riding Injury An Ashburn man, 17, was airlifted to a hospital after falling from a Honda Civic on the 43100 block of Gatwick Square. According to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the teen was riding on the trunk of the Civic, which was driven by an 18-year-old female. According to a spokesman for the LCSO, the incident was not a domestic dispute and is considered an accident. The driver was not charged in the incident.
