Water Rescue Among Public Safety Reports

A half-dozen water-rescue incidents were reported countywide; larceny remains primary crime in Ashburn.

Ashburn Water Rescue A water rescue in Ashburn Jan. 31 was among a six such incidents throughout Loudoun County as motorists found themselves in deep water on county roads. Deputies responded to Belmont Ridge and Evergreen Mills roads after a 3:52 p.m. report Thursday of a vehicle stalled in standing water on a flooded roadway. Loudoun County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management personnel used a shallow-water crossing and rope-rescue technique to get the driver to safety. Additional water rescues were performed around the county. While most were in western Loudoun, another incident occurred at Evergreen Mills and Watson roads. Ashburn Crime Report: Nov. 18-29

The following incidents were reported to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Possession of Marijuana A deputy patrolling the area near the 20000 block of Coltsfoot Terrace in Ashburn Village saw someone sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot around 12:30 a.m. Nov. 29. The vehicle’s occupant was found to be in possession of marijuana and charged with a misdemeanor. Burglarly, Possession Unlawful entry charges are pending for six teenagers who were discovered in a home on the 44100 block of Mossy Brook Square in Ashburn Village without permission at 4:45 p.m. Nov. 23. Damage to home and missing items were reported. Charges are also pending against one person found in the home for possession of marijuana. Ashburn Crime Report: Sept. 14-27

The following incidents in the community were reported to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Graffiti Graffiti, including language and images described as obscene, were reported at the following locations between 10 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. Sept. 15: Tampering with an ATM Someone reportedly attempted to gain entry to an ATM on the 42400 block of Regal Wood Drive between 10 p.m. and 11:46 p.m. Sept. 14. The ATM was damaged. Burglary Power tools were reported moved, but nothing was missing following an apparent burglary on the 19800 block of Belmont Ridge Road around noon Sept. 27. Ashburn Crime Report: Aug. 8-15

Several cases of larceny are reported to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

A 19-year-old Purcellville man was charged following a domestic dispute over property on the 22000 block of Ayr Hill Court at 7:45 p.m. Aug. 10. A GPS device and sunglasses were reported taken from two unlocked vehicles parked in an open garage on the 43200 block of Summithill Court between 8 p.m. Aug. 9 and 1:30 a.m. Aug. 10. Four vehicles were entered, and an iPod touch and change were reported taken, on the 20900 block of Hollyberry Court between 10 p.m. Aug. 11 and 8:45 a.m. Aug. 12. Constructions materials were reported taken from a site near Loudoun County Parkway and Reuse Lane between 3 p.m. Aug. 8 and 8 a.m. Aug. 13. Herndon Woman Charged after Ashburn Hit and Run

The driver was reported to have initially left the scene after striking a pedestrian, but returned.

A Herndon woman was charged with felony hit and run after striking a female pedestrian in Ashburn, 12, and initially leaving the scene June 20. The girl and a friend attempted to cross the street near Ashburn Farm Parkway and Junction Plaza at 5:39 p.m. with the suspect vehicle stopped at a stop sign, according to a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle moved forward and struck one girl, who was knocked into her friend. Both girls fell to the ground during the incident, according to the report. Both girls were taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital and treated for minor injuries. The driver, Erin F. Dean, 25, of Herndon returned to the scene where officers charged her with felony hit and run and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. …

Crime Report: Stranger Reported in Home Near Ashburn Park

Check out this week's update from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office University Station.

A resident along the 43600 block of Preddy Court, near Ashburn Park, reported that a stranger entered their home shortly before 11 p.m. June 16. The resident heard a noise and, upon investigation, spotted an unknown male standing in the foyer. The suspect – described as a white male, 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighing 135 pounds – fled back through the front door. He was wearing a black hat, a gray or white hoodie, blue jeans and a light colored pair of sneakers. There were no signs of forced entry. Crime Report: Motorcycle Crash Requires Medivac Lift from Route 15

Check out this week's update from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office South Station.

Route 15 was closed just south of Route 50 for one hour Monday evening when a 52-year-old Herndon man riding a 2004 motorcycle south on Route 15 crashed into the back of a 2002 Lexus RX350. The Lexus was driven by a 19-year-old female from Castleton, VA. The Lexus was reportedly slowing down due to slowing traffic. The impact threw the rider off of the motorcycle. The rider was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The rider was wearing a helmet. Crime Report: Rachel Hill Drive Residents Reported Suspicious Van

Check out this week's update from the Loudoun Sheriff's Office South Station.

A suspicious white van approached a home on Rachel Hill Drive where two girls were standing outside May 18. A passenger from the van exited, but made no contact with the young girls before leaving the area. The girls reported the incident to their parents and deputies discovered multiple work vans fitting the description in the area.
