Planning to head downtown for a Washington Nationals game this season? Let Clyde’s and Ballpark Bus complete the day. Last year, Ballpark Bus launched its service for a selection of Nationals games, depending on advance sign ups. This season the bus will operate out of Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm during every weekend and holiday game for the 2013 season, starting with opening day April 1. If you’re lucky enough to have gotten your hands on a ticket to the Washington Redskins-Seattle Seahawks NFL wildcard playoff game Jan. 6, you may be wondering how you’ll get there. After a successful season hauling fans to Washington Nationals baseball games, Ballpark Bus expanded to the football. The business schedules buses to pick up fans at local restaurants and take them to and from games. Patrons never have to drive in game-day traffic and can have a great meal before or afterward. When a group of three Loudouners started BallPark Bus this spring, the ride ahead was anything but certain. It soon became clear that the service — which took residents, families, coworkers and other groups from Washington, D.C. suburbs to Nationals Park and back for $18 a seat — was taking off, ferrying hundreds of customers to see ball games without the stress of traffic and parking. Going to see the Washington Nationals play baseball can be a daunting task for dwellers of the outer ‘burbs, such as Ashburn, particularly when schedules could put fans on the road at rush hour. Three Loudouners recently decided to try to change, and earlier this month launched a website for Ballpark Bus. Visit the website and choose an upcoming game, select a restaurant from which to depart and make a reservation. Participants still need to purchase tickets to the game, but the reservation saves them a seat on the ride to Nationals Park.
