BMW of Sterling Gives Bicycles to LCSO

The donation of three bikes will help the sheriff’s office, which equips more than 50 members with bicycles.

BMW of Sterling donated three BMW bicycles to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office last month, helping outfit a department that equips more than 50 deputies with bicycles. “We believe in supporting our local law enforcement and look forward to continuing our support in the future,” said Thomas A. Moorehead, chairman and CEO of Moorehead Properties Inc. The new bicycles will be assigned to patrol deputies. “This unit focuses on building a better relationship with the public by getting out in the neighborhoods and focusing on the community's needs,” Sheriff Mike Chapman said. “We live in a county that is 520 square miles with numerous bike trails, including the W&OD trail that traverses over 20 miles of the county. Crime Report: Unsecured Bicycles Stolen, Egg 'Missiles' Hurled

Incidents from the past week as reported by the Loudoun Sheriff's Dulles South Station.

Several unsecured bicycles being taken from community pools this week, according to crime reports from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Dulles South Station. Two bicycles were taken on the afternoon of July 1 from a pool on Greenstone Drive. The theft occurred between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. On the afternoon of July 5, also between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., a Specialized bicycle was reported taken from a pool on Parish Street.
