Inova Loudoun to Host Children's Book Signing
Local author's work about therapy dog, “The Beamer Book Series," helps kids feel at ease with doctors.
For years, Cindy Chambers, who serves on the board of Inova Loudoun Hospital, has observed children come to the hospital for medical care and wondered how she could help ease their fear of the hospital experience. Chambers wished the kids had a way to meet the wonderful doctors and other health professionals she has worked with. So she decided to write a book series to help children feel more aware of how a hospital works and introduce them to the doctors and nurses who are there to help them. The four-book series, entitled The Beamer Book Series, features a dog named Beamer as the main character.
